History
Through more than 80 years and three generations Oshaug Metall has supplied the maritime engineering industry with high quality castings.
In 1927 Jens Oshaug took over the management of A/S De Forenede Støperier (The United Foundries) in Ålesund and started what eventually was to be Oshaug Metall. At that time the alloy was gunmetal, and the company supplied customers with propeller components and engine parts. Oshaug Metall has always had a focus on close customer service, and the company relocated from Ålesund to Molde in 1932,
partly because one of the most important customers, Heimdal Motorfabrikk, wanted to have their metal supplier in Molde. Harry Oshaug took the helm and replaced his father in 1948, while Stein Berg Oshaug continued the tradition and represented the third generation in the family business when he took over as foundry manager in 1981. From 1990 he has been Managing Director. The company has continuously evolved with a focus on competence and development, and has gone from being a national supplier to delivering high quality products in NiAl-Bronze to every propeller producer in Scandinavia.
